Sober's Birthday

I already commented on this event in the previous post.

This Friday my man Select along with A. One will be doing the damn thing at Zubar for the Percolator Fridays Version 1.0 These two cats do their thing on the 1's and 2's and the event is free. So come on out and shake your tailfeather. Also, come by the Cavern on Lower Greenville for some chunky tunes thrown together for my man DJ Sober's birthday bash. It's gonna be dope.

Mad Updates

So we had a mad busy weekend this past weekend.

Friday night, chilled out Leon The Pro and DJ Love at Ten in Downtown Dallas. It was a cool relaxing evening and DJ Love was playing the classics.

Saturday, spent the day at The 808 Studio. Mentored my niece Julia on the recording process. Pro recorded another sick track for the mixtape. Myself, International Stro, and our first cousin Jen recorded a track for the mixtape too. In order to afford the proper time for The 808 to mixdown our tracks and in an effort to make sure we give yall quality product, the mixtape release has been pushed back a week. New release date=June 1, 2009. Trust me, it's gonna be bananas. Big up to Rosalinda Ruiz and The 808 Studio for always being mad professional and showing Calidad Entertainment much love. Get at them if you need studio services.

Saturday evening, hit up a graduation dinner for my boy Eugenio at La Duni on Oak Lawn. Then headed over to Kenichi with International Stro, Hassan, Pro, and Kid Rae for Milad's (CEO of the Crazy Hour Crew) graduation party. It was off the chain. Definitely the livest graduation party I've ever witnessed. Shot out to The Crazy Hour Crew. Be on the lookout for some Calidad Entertainment - Crazy Hour Crew collabos this summer.

Sunday met up with Pro, Love, Ani, & Stro. Hit up the Rec Shop BBQ/BBoy Jam. It was dope to see all of the young bucks still representing the skateboard, bboy, and graffiti cultures. Unfortunately, the DPD shut down the event prematurely and with an excessive display of force.

REC SHOP . FREE BBQ . SUNDAY . DAYTIME .

So I've been sporadic with the posts lately because I was wrapping up my final exams and my first year of grad school. Survey says, I was successful. It was mad stressful but I made it. Now I'm back on my grind with CE.

This is a flier a free event being put on by Rec Shop and Big J of the Clever Monkey's. It's going down Sunday at 3 pm. If you have had the opportunity to catch Big J at Cool Out Mondays at The Cavern or his Thursday night gig at Blue Fish, then you know he holds it down on the 1's and 2's.

Our first mixtape is dropping next Thursday, May 21, 2009. It's gonna be HOT! Bump it in route to your Memorial Day Weekend parties, at the pool, lake, your car, or the shower.

Finally, one of readers, James Tolbert has suggested that we add more commentary to our posts. James, thank you for the suggestion and we will begin to put more substance into our posts.
